Lydia Avila, Civic Engagement Coordinator
Lydia Avila, Civic Engagement Coordinator, is a graduate of Occidental College with a major in Urban and Environmental Policy. Prior to joining InnerCity Struggle, Lydia was a community organizer for East LA Community Corporation, where she worked with Boyle Heights’ residents to fight gentrification by advocating for equitable land-use and planning policies. She was born, raised and currently lives in Boyle Heights with her husband and two children.
