Educational Justice Week is organized by students every year to promote college awareness, educational justice, and community change.

It is a week-long event with interactive classroom workshops and concludes on Friday with a College Fair.

Workshops offered:

Beet the System (BTS)

Beet the System is a workshop designed to broaden students' understanding of environmental justice and community health. It is about connecting student's health to their academic success. Using popular education, we'll look at the lack of access to healthy foods and green spaces while looking at what young people can do to make healthier decisions for themselves and their communities.

Ain't no Power like the Power of the Youth! (ANP)

In the 2008 presidential election, the U.S. witnessed the largest amount of young people engaged in the electoral process. Inner City Struggle and United Students believes that youth are critical in any movement for social change. Youth are, and have always been, the most affected by the conditions in their schools and community. This workshop explores the dominant worldview of youth and how youth have been perceived & treated by society throughout our history to the present. This workshop will emphasize the importance of incorporating a student voice in school reform and changes that directly impact them. We will encourage and motivate students to get involved in United Students efforts to advocate for student voice in the school and community.
