Community Health Campaign
InnerCity Struggle is organizing youth and families to create healthy communities in the Eastside. ICS is linking community, youth and parent organizing for educational justice to the development of a healthy community in which children and youth are healthy, safe and able to learn.
ICS recognizes that health and obesity issues confronting young people on the Eastside are directly tied to institutional oppression, including poverty, lack of employment opportunities, poor quality of education and other issues.
ICS's work aims to advocate for schools that anchor communities holistically, promote healthy behaviors and are a gateway for resources and services that ensure all students are prepared for college and the 21st century workforce.
ICS is partnering with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the California Endowment to strengthen and expand the above described efforts.
