Recent Achievements
The Eastside Academic Zone of Choice was created as a result of a community lead movement to provide options and educational empowerment to students and families in the Eastside communities.
Through the collective efforts of the East Los Angeles Education Collaborative, Board Member Yolie Flores, Local District 5 and the leadership of community groups such as InnerCity Struggle, Volunteers of East Los Angeles, Bienvenidos, East Los Angeles Community College and LA CAUSA Youth Build, a vision of choice, high quality, and community schools was developed in order to prepare students to be college and career ready and meet the demands of the 21st century workforce.
